The secure portal will allow us to work together efficiently by securely exchanging working documents, database software files, and scanned receipts. No matter where you are--work, vacation, home--you always have access to your accounting database, financial work papers and your tax returns.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to you, our new and returning taxpayers, for entrusting us with your tax preparation needs. Please take some time to review the below information in detail so you know what to expect from this upcoming tax season. 

  1. SIGN YOUR ENGAGEMENT LETTER: You will be receiving an engagement letter for tax services in your email for review and electronic signature. 

  2. COMPLETE OUR TAX PREP QUESTIONNAIRE: Please follow this link to securely submit responses to our annual questionnaire. This annual questionnaire plays a critical part in the tax preparation process. This will help us save you time and money and help us help you more effectively.

  3. GATHER TAX DOCUMENTS: Here is a Document checklist to assist you in organizing the documents you will need for your tax return. If you are required to file a Schedule C (Profit of Loss from business) or a Schedule E (Income from Rental Real Estate) we have a separate checklist we can provide upon request to help you gather documents. 

  4. UPLOAD TAX DOCUMENTS TO THE CLIENT PORTAL: Our client portal is an easy and secure way to go paperless, collaborate, and share files securely online. If you are not already using our client portal, please contact us so we can get you set up. You will upload your documents to the TY20 Source Document Folder.

  5. ESTIMATE: You should have received an estimate for your tax prep fee. Your estimate is based on our current understanding of your tax preparation needs. Additional requests and forms will be added to your final bill. Payment is to be made when tax forms are prepared, but prior to filing. 

 

 

ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL STEPS ABOVE AND YOUR FILE IS READY FOR TAX PREPARATION, PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO INFO@ONLINETAXLLC.COM TO LET US KNOW. FROM THERE WE WILL SCHEDULE A DATE TO COMPLETE YOUR RETURN SO THAT WE ENSURE YOU ARE AVAILABLE FOR QUESTIONS, MEETINGS, AND REVIEW OF YOUR PREPARED RETURN.

DO NOT SEND US PERSONAL AND TAX INFORMATION OVER EMAIL: Your privacy and data security is a top priority for us. Please note that we will NOT be accepting any tax documents and personal identifying information over email or text. 

 

BE CAUTIOUS THIS TAX SEASON:

There is a continued surge of scam and fraud attempts. Stimulus checks, unemployment benefits, and pandemic assistance have become an even greater target for fraud this past year. Please be aware of these risks and exercise an abundance of caution with your personal information. The IRS has put out some great information regarding known scams that you can read here. We recommend that you always air on the side of caution. Call us with any concerns throughout this tax season and beyond.
